The senior practicum represents the final stage of the Nursing Profession education, aiming to develop students' ability to manage nursing care independently and professionally. This practicum was conducted on patients with Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD) undergoing hemodialysis who experienced pruritus in the Hemodialysis Unit of RSUP H. Adam Malik. The objective of this activity was to enhance patient comfort through an innovative nursing stervention using olive oil as a non-pharmacological therapy. The method employed a systematic nursing process approach, including assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation. The intervention involved applying olive oil topically twice a day for two weeks and providing education to patients and their families regarding skin care. The results showed a decrease in pruritus intensity, improved sleep quality, enhanced comfort, and increased patient knowledge in managing pruritus. The innovation of using olive oil proved to be an effective, safe, and applicable approach in clinical practice. The conclusion of this practicum is that olive oil topical therapy can serve as a complementary nursing intervention that improves the quality of care and can be integrated into the standard operating procedures in hemodialysis units.
