Persepsi Jurnalis Pers Kampus di Kota Medan Terhadap Praktik Jurnalisme Komik
The Perception of Campus Press Journalists in Medan City Toward the Practice of Comic Journalism
Abstract
This study is titled The Perception of Campus Press Journalists in Medan City Toward the Practice of Comic Journalism, aiming to explore the perceptions of campus press journalists in Medan regarding comic journalism as an alternative media form. This research employs a qualitative method with a perceptual analysis approach, using perception theory as the analytical framework, which is examined through three aspects: cognitive, affective, and conative. The study involved six informants, consisting of five main informants and one triangulation informant, selected using purposive sampling. Data were collected through in-depth interviews with informants, observations, and literature studies. The results show that, cognitively, informants recognize comic journalism through social media and understand its visual form, yet lack a deep understanding of journalistic structure, the 5W+1H elements, and verification principles. Affectively, informants show interest in the visual format and emotional narratives delivered through comic journalism. However, in the conative aspect, only a few are motivated to actively use or produce comic journalism in campus press activities.
