Digital transformation in the industry 5.0 era provides challenges for hospitals to utilize
information technology that has changed the paradigm of medical and nursing services
from conventional paper-based systems to digital systems (electronic-based). One of these
innovations is the implementation of Electronic Medical Record (EMR) to support
sustainable health services that improve data accuracy, time efficiency, and patient safety.
The role and readiness of clinical nurses who are at the forefront is very important in
documenting continuous patient nursing care which has an impact on the optimal use of
EMR. The practice design used was a cross-sectional quantitative description with a total
of 174 clinical nurses in the Integrated Hospitalization Rooms (RINDU) A and B with total
sampling technique to determine the readiness of clinical nurses in the application of
information technology to the use of EMR in the Adam Malik Hospital hospitalization
room. The practice results show that the majority of clinical nurses are very ready to use
EMR in the hospitalization room, but there are still nurses who have sufficient readiness
to use EMR. Hospital management is expected to increase knowledge and skills through
continuous education and training, provide a positive motivational and supportive
approach, and optimize infrastructure by fulfilling facilities and infrastructure as well as
the attitude of nurses who are willing to keep learning and be consistent in the use of
complete and optimal EMR so that the implementation of EMR in the hospitalization room
is effective
