| dc.description.abstract | This study aims to analyze the medical records archiving system at the University of North Sumatra Hospital (RS USU) using the Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities, and Threats (SWOT) method. The research was conducted to identify the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats that affect the management of medical record archives, both in physical and electronic form. The research method applied was descriptive with a qualitative approach, through the collection of primary data from observations and interviews, as well as secondary data from hospital documents and relevant literature. The results show that the strengths of RS USU lie in human resource competence, management support, the implementation of Electronic Medical Records (EMR), and the application of data security standards. The weaknesses identified include incomplete documentation, limited storage space, and a lack of discipline in completing medical records. Opportunities that can be leveraged include the development of information technology and government policy support for the digitalization of health services, while the threats faced include disaster risks, data theft, and competition among hospitals. This study recommends optimizing the use of EMR, enhancing human resource competence, strengthening, and implementing multilayered security systems to ensure the sustainability and quality of medical records archiving management at RS USU. | en_US |
