dc.description.abstract | Antibiotics are a group of compounds, both natural and synthetic, that have the effect of suppressing or stopping a biochemical process within an organism, particularly in the process of bacterial infection. The increase in antibiotic resistance or antimicrobial resistance (AMR) has become one of the biggest health threats worldwide. The lack of public understanding and knowledge about the correct and appropriate use of antibiotics is a triggering factor for bacterial resistance to antibiotics. Public education plays an important role in the rational use of antibiotics. Continuous education through public health campaigns has proven effective in reducing unnecessary antibiotic demand. The objective of this senior practicum is to implement nursing care through education on antibiotic use in the community of Tanjung Anom village. The method used in this research is providing health education through group discussions related to the use of antibiotics with the aid of leaflets. The activities include pre-test and post-test to determine the level of public knowledge. Based on the assessment results before the antibiotic use education, the pre-test knowledge results showed that 3 clients (60%) were in the poor category and 2 clients (40%) were in the fair category. After the education was provided, the post-test results showed that all 5 clients (100%) had good knowledge. Based on the nursing care management results for the 5 clients, it was concluded that education had an impact on improving the community's knowledge and ability regarding antibiotic use in Tanjung Anom Village. Advice for the community to be more attentive to their health by always seeking information about self-care when sick, things that may seem simple but are actually quite important for health. | en_US |
