Acute Respiratory Infection (ARI) is a common infectious disease affecting children under 5 years of age. Acute Respiratory Infection (ARI) is the leading cause of infant mortality worldwide. The high acute incidence of ARI is caused by housing conditions that do not meet health standards and poor environmental sanitation. The physical condition of the house refers to the condition of the walls, floor conditions, temperature, ventilation, lighting, and occupancy density, while environmental sanitation refers to clean water, healthy toilets, wastewater drainage, and garbage disposal. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between the physical condition of the house and environmental sanitation with ARI complaints. The design of this study was cross sectional. Data analysis using the Chi Square Test with p value= 0,05. The results of the study showed that the variables of ventilation (p=0,03), temperature (p=0,04), residential density (p=0,009), wastewater drainage conditions (p=0,01), garbage disposal (p=0,02) which means they have a relationship with the incidence of ARI. The variables of walls (p=0,8), floors (p=0,4), lighting (p=0,4), clean water (p =0,4), healthy toilets (p=0,37) showed no relationship with the incidence of ARI. From the results of this study it can be concluded that poor physical conditions and environmental sanitation can trigger the occurrence of disease in toddlers. Suggestions from this study are that mothers who have toddlers improve the physical environmental conditions of the house, open the house ventilation for air exchange, sweep the floor and clean the walls and separate the toddler's room from the parents to prevent contracting ARI. The community must reduce the habit of burning garbage in the open because it can pollute the air and cause ARI.en_US
