Biogasoline is one of the alternative energy sources that can replace fossil fuels.
Biogasoline is highly promising and can be used for various industrial purposes,
such as combustion fuel and power generation for producing chemicals, as well as
being blended with diesel oil as fuel for diesel engines.
The preliminary design of a biogasoline production plant using CPO (Crude
Palm Oil) as raw material is planned with a capacity of 90,000 tons/year and will
operate for 330 days per year. The plant is planned to be located in Tanah Putih
District, Rokan Hilir Regency, Riau. The purpose of this plant design is to apply
chemical engineering knowledge, including mass balance, energy balance,
equipment specifications, chemical engineering operations, utilities, and other areas
of chemical engineering, as well as to meet the need for environmentally friendly
alternative fuels.

Based on the results of the economic analysis, it can be concluded that a
biogasoline plant using CPO through the cracking process is feasible to be
established.
