Penetapan Dosis Pupuk Kalium dan Pupuk Kandang Ayam terhadap Produksi Tanaman Jagung (Zea mays L.) di Kecamatan Munte Kabupaten Karo
Determination of Potassium Fertilizer Dosage and Chicken Manure on Corn (Zea mays L.) Plant Production in Munte District Karo Regency
Abstract
This study aims to obtain the right dose of potassium fertilizer and chicken
manure and the interaction between the two for the growth and production of corn
(Zea mays L.) plants in Munte District, Karo Regency. This research was conducted
in Singgamanik Village, Munte District, Karo Regency at an altitude of + 1,046
meters above sea level. Analysis of soil, chicken manure, and plants was carried
out at the Laboratory of the Agricultural Instrument Standardization Agency
(BSIP), Medan from December 2024 to April 2025. This study used a Randomized
Block Design with 2 treatment factors and 2 blocks. The first factor is K fertilizer
consisting of 5 treatment levels, namely 0% (0 kg K2O), 50% (30 kg K2O), 100%
(60 kg K2O), 150% (90 kg K2O), 200% (120 kg K2O) recommended dose of K
fertilizer. The second factor is chicken manure consisting of 4 treatment levels,
namely 0 tons/ha, 1.5 tons/ha, 3 tons/ha, 4.5 tons/ha. The research parameters
included root dry weight, shoot dry weight, K nutrient absorption, weight of husked
cobs, weight of husked cobs and seed weight. The results showed that the provision
of potassium fertilizer at various levels could not improved all research parameters.
The provision of chicken manure at various levels improved affected the weight of
husked cobs, weight of husked cobs and seed weight. The combination of K fertilizer
and chicken manure treatments improved affected the weight of husked cobs, weight
of husked cobs and seed weight with the best treatment at the level of 0 kg K2O and
4.5 tons/ha of chicken manure.
