Background: The pharmaceutical industry is a business entity licensed in accordance with applicable laws and regulations to carry out the manufacture of medicines or pharmaceutical substances. These activities must comply with Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP). Pharmaceutical companies are required to produce medicines that are suitable for their intended use, meet the standards stated in the marketing authorisation (registration), and do not pose any risk to users due to being unsafe, substandard, or ineffective.
