| dc.description.abstract | Background: Pharmacists play an important role in dispensing medicines and providing information about medicines at community health centers, and must therefore have the knowledge to provide good service to the community. Given the importance of the duties and functions of a pharmacist at a community health center, prospective pharmacists need to be equipped through Professional Pharmacist Internship (PKPA).
Objective: The objective of PKPA at community health centers is to improve prospective pharmacists' understanding of the roles, functions, and responsibilities of pharmacists at community health centers.
Method: The Pharmacist Professional Work Practice at the Puskesmas was carried out from November 1, 2024, to November 28, 2024. The PKPA Puskesmas was carried out at the South Medan Area Puskesmas UPT, located on Jalan Medan Area Selatan, Sukaramai I, Kec. Medan Area, Medan City, North Sumatra Province.
Summary: The roles, functions, and responsibilities of pharmacists in providing pharmaceutical services at the South Medan Area Community Health Center include managing pharmaceutical supplies and consumable medical supplies (BMHP), which consists of planning, procurement, receipt, storage, distribution, control, recording and reporting, withdrawal and disposal, as well as monitoring and evaluation of drug use; and clinical pharmacy services, which include prescription review and dispensing, Drug Information Services (DIS), counseling, Monitoring of Adverse Drug Reactions (MADR), and Monitoring of Drug Therapy (MDT). | en_US |
