| dc.description.abstract | Background: A hospital is a healthcare institution that provides comprehensive individual healthcare services, including inpatient, outpatient, and emergency care. The Hospital Pharmacy Unit (IFRS) is led by a pharmacist who is responsible for implementing all pharmaceutical services in the hospital. Therefore, prospective pharmacists need to gain hands-on experience through the Pharmacist Internship.
Objective: To enable prospective pharmacists to understand the roles, duties, and responsibilities of pharmacists in pharmaceutical services, the management of pharmaceutical preparations, medical devices, and consumable medical supplies in hospitals.
Methods: The Pharmacist Internship was conducted from April 3-30, 2025, at Dr. Zainoel Abidin Regional General Hospital, Banda Aceh. The methods used were direct observation and participatory practice in pharmaceutical distribution activities.
Results: PKPA students carried out various activities including managing pharmaceutical preparations, medical devices, and disposable medical materials (BMHP) and providing clinical pharmacy services in accordance with Regulation of the Minister of Health of the Republic of Indonesia Number 72 of 2016 concerning standards of pharmaceutical services in hospitals.
Conclusion: The role of pharmacists at Dr. Zainoel Abidin Regional General Hospital, including managing pharmaceutical preparations, medical devices, and disposable medical materials (BMHP), and providing clinical pharmacy services, is in accordance with Regulation of the Minister of Health of the Republic of Indonesia Number 72 of 2016 concerning standards of pharmaceutical services in hospitals. | en_US |
