| dc.description.abstract | Background: The pharmaceutical industry plays a vital role in ensuring the availability of safe, high-quality, and affordable medicines. To guarantee product
quality, industries are required to implement Good Manufacturing Practices
(GMP/CPOB). Pharmacists serve as key personnel in production, quality assurance, and quality control.
Objective: The Professional Pharmacist Internship (PKPA) at PT. Kalbio Global Medika aimed to provide interns with hands-on experience in GMP implementation,
a deeper understanding of pharmacists’ responsibilities in the industry, and practical
insights into production processes and quality management systems.
Summary: The internship was conducted from February 1 to March 28, 2025, at PT. Kalbio Global Medika, Cikarang, with primary placement in the Qualification &
Validation division. Activities included inter-departmental inductions, general and personnel training with assessments, as well as direct involvement in validation, quality assurance, and quality control processes. Interns also gained practical knowledge of production flow and GMP-based quality systems.
Conclusion: The internship provided a comprehensive understanding of
pharmacists’ roles in the pharmaceutical industry, particularly in ensuring product
quality through GMP systems. It enhanced participants’ knowledge, skills, and perspectives in supporting the production of safe, effective, and regulation-compliant medicines. | en_US |
