    Abstract
Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease of often referred to as COPD is a disease related to structural changes in the lungs and is characterized by shortness of breath, coughing and excessive sputum production. This condition can cause COPD patients to experience disturbed sleep patterns. Acupressure therapy is one of the non-pharmacological therapies used to improve sleep quality. This study aims to apply the concept of nursing care in COPD patients with disturbed sleep patterns through acupressure therapy. This research uses a case study method with a nursing process approach which includes assessment, data analysis, nursing diagnosis, nursing planning, nursing implementation and evaluation. From the results of the assessment of Mr.B, it was found that the patient complained of shortness of breath accompanied by a cough with phlegm, and had difficulty sleeping. The nursing diagnosis that appeared in Mr.B was: ineffective airway clearance associated with airway hypersecretion, impaired gas exchange associated with alveolus-capillary membrane changes, and sleep pattern disorders associated with poor sleep control. After taking nursing action, it was found that airway clearance was resolved, gas exchange disturbances were partially resolved, and sleep pattern disturbances were resolved with the results of reduced shortness of breath, being able to cough effectively, improved oxygen saturation, complaints of difficulty sleeping and frequent wakefulness decreased. Acupressure therapy has proven effective in overcoming disturbances in the patient’s sleep patterns with the result that the patient can sleep soundly and rarely wake up.
