dc.description.abstractBackground: Pharmacists are an important pillar in maintaining public health safety and ensuring that every drug and food product for the community meets established quality standards, not only drugs but also considering the importance of food in maintaining the health of the community. The presence of pharmacists at the Indonesian Food and Drug Monitoring Agency plays a role in ensuring that every food product meets established nutritional and safety standards. The presence of pharmacists at the Indonesian Food and Drug Administration also contributes to creating a stronger and more effective surveillance system, which supports the government's efforts to protect the public from the risks of unsafe drug and food products. Objectives: To understand the main duties, functions, authorities, and organizational structure of BPOM RI. To understand the role of pharmacists in government in the supervision of drugs and food at BPOM RI. To understand the main duties and functions of the Directorate of Processed Food Registration. Method: PKPA activities were carried out on September 2-27, 2024 at the Directorate of Processed Food Registration of BPOM RI. The methods included material provision, observation, discussion, and direct involvement in Processed Food Registration activities. Results: Participants gained extensive knowledge about the role of pharmacists in BPOM RI, specifically in the field of Processed Food Registration, where this directorate is tasked with formulating and implementing policies, developing norms, standards, procedures, criteria, providing technical guidance and supervision, as well as monitoring, evaluating, and reporting in the field of processed food registration. Conclusion: The implementation of PKPA at BPOM RI provides prospective pharmacists with a deep understanding of the practical role of pharmacists in supervising and ensuring the quality of medicines and food circulating in Indonesia.en_US
