| dc.description.abstract | Background: Community Health Centers (Puskesmas) are technical implementation units of the District/City Health Office that play an important role in providing primary health care services and health development in their respective working areas. Pharmaceutical services are an integral component, consisting of pharmaceutical supply management and clinical pharmacy services as regulated by the Ministry of Health.
Objective: The Pharmacist Professional Work Practice (PKPA) at UPT Puskesmas Mandala aimed to improve the knowledge and understanding of prospective pharmacists regarding the roles, functions, and responsibilities of pharmacists in community health centers, as well as to compare the implementation of pharmaceutical services with applicable regulations.
Method: The PKPA was conducted from October 1–28, 2024, through direct observation of pharmaceutical activities, involvement in supply management and clinical services, document review, and discussions with the supervising pharmacist.
Result: Pharmaceutical services at UPT Puskesmas Mandala included pharmaceutical supply management (planning, requesting, receiving, storing, distributing, controlling, recording, reporting, monitoring, and evaluation) and clinical pharmacy services (prescription review, dispensing, drug information services, counseling, adverse drug reaction monitoring, drug therapy monitoring, and drug use evaluation). These activities were generally in line with Ministry of Health Regulation No. 74 of 2016. However, some activities, such as the destruction of pharmaceutical supplies and patient visits, were not carried out due to facility limitations and regulatory authority.
Conclusion: The PKPA at UPT Puskesmas Mandala provided comprehensive insights into the role of pharmacists in primary health care. This experience strengthened the competence of prospective pharmacists in delivering high-quality and regulation-compliant pharmaceutical services at the community level. | en_US |
