    Abstract
Background: The pharmaceutical industry is a business entity licensed under statutory regulations to carry out the manufacture of medicines or pharmaceutical ingredients. Lembaga Farmasi TNI Angkatan Udara (LAFIAU) Drs. Roostyan Effendie, Apt. is one of the non-profit pharmaceutical industries in Indonesia that produces medicines to meet the needs of soldiers, civil servants, the Indonesian Air Force, and their families. As one of the manufacturing facilities under the Air Force Medical Corps (DISKESAU), LAFIAU has obtained a Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP/CPOB) certificate. Objective: The Professional Pharmacist Internship (PKPA) in the pharmaceutical industry aims to enhance the understanding of pharmacist candidates regarding the role, function, position, and responsibilities of pharmacists in the pharmaceutical industry, particularly in the implementation of Good Manufacturing Practices (CPOB), and to provide a real picture of pharmaceutical work-related issues in the industry. Summary: PKPA activities at LAFIAU include participation in production processes, product evaluation, and quality control in the Quality Control (QC) and Quality Assurance (QA) departments, covering line clearance, product release, and supplier qualification. Supporting departments were also introduced, such as HVAC systems, compressed air, water treatment systems, wastewater treatment systems, and storage of raw materials and finished products in the warehouse. Conclusion: LAFIAU plays an important role and responsibility in ensuring product quality by consistently applying CPOB. The pharmaceutical industry is required to employ at least three pharmacists as responsible persons in quality assurance, production, and quality control of each pharmaceutical product.
