    Abstract
FRANSISKA VALENTIN SIREGAR (210304022) with the title of the thesis "Technical Efficiency of Carrot Farming in Rumamis Village, Barusjahe District, Karo Regency" (Under the guidance of Mr. R. B. Moh. Ibrahim Fatoni, S. Pi., M. P. as Supervisor and Mrs. Riantri Barus, S. P., M. Si., M. P. as Examiner). This study aims to analyze the technical efficiency of carrot farming in Rumamis Village, Barusjahe District, Karo Regency, and to identify factors that influence farmers' technical efficiency. Increasing carrot farming productivity is essential amidst challenges of agricultural sustainability and profitability. The Stochastic Frontier Analysis (SFA) method was used to measure the technical efficiency of carrot farming, while the Tobit regression model was applied to identify factors influencing technical efficiency. Primary data were obtained through a survey of carrot farmers at the research site. The results showed that the average technical efficiency score was 0.94, indicating that the technical efficiency of carrot farmers at the study site was relatively high. There is still room for improvement for some farmers, as evidenced by efficiency scores ranging from 0.96 to 0.82. Technical efficiency was significantly negatively influenced by labor per land area, but positively by production parameters including pesticide use per land area, organic fertilizer, and chemical fertilizer. From a socioeconomic perspective, technical efficiency was also significantly influenced by the highest level of education achieved by farmers and their land ownership status. Farmers who own their own land and have a higher educational background are generally more productive.
