Background: The Pharmacist Professional Work Prcatice (PKPA) at the
Indonesian Army Health Center Pharmaceutical Institute (LAFI Puskesad) aims to
provide an in-depth understanding of the role of pharmacists in ensuring the quality,
safety, and effectiveness of medicines through the implementation of Good
Manufacturing Practices (CPOB).
Objective: To understand the functions, roles, and responsibilities of pharmacists
in the pharmaceutical industry; to understand the planning and implementation of
pharmaceutical production in non-profit government institutions; and to observe the
implementation of GMP at LAFI Puskesad.
Summary: This program was conducted from January 6–February 28, 2025,
through direct practice, observation, and guidance from pharmacist supervisors.
The results of the program indicate that LAFI Puskesad has optimally implemented
the 2018 GMP guidelines in production, quality assurance, quality control, and
distribution. Pharmacists play a significant role in the production of beta-lactam and
non-beta-lactam medicines, quality control, and research and development.
Production planning is based on government funding allocations (APBN),
equipment availability, human resources, and drug needs.
Conclusion: The Pharmacist Professional Work Prcatice (PKPA) at LAFI
Puskesad provides prospective pharmacists with real-world experience in the
importance of their role in ensuring drug quality and safety in the pharmaceutical
industry. This activity enhances the competence, knowledge, and preparedness of
prospective pharmacists to carry out their future professional duties.
