| dc.description.abstract | Background: Community Health Centers are technical implementation units of the District/City Health Office that play an important role in delivering primary health care services and promoting health development within their working areas. Pharmaceutical services are an integral part, consisting of pharmaceutical supply management and clinical pharmacy services in accordance with Ministry of Health regulations.
Objective: The Pharmacist Professional Work Practice (PKPA) at UPT Puskesmas Pulo Brayan aimed to enhance the knowledge and understanding of prospective pharmacists regarding the roles, functions, and responsibilities of pharmacists in primary health care facilities, as well as to evaluate the implementation of pharmaceutical services against applicable regulations.
Method: The PKPA was carried out from September 2 to 30, 2024, through direct observation of pharmaceutical activities, involvement in supply management and clinical services, document review, and discussions with the supervising pharmacist.
Result: Pharmaceutical services at UPT Puskesmas Pulo Brayan included pharmaceutical supply management (planning, requesting, receiving, storing, distributing, controlling, recording, reporting, monitoring, and evaluation) and clinical pharmacy services (prescription review, dispensing, drug information services, counseling, adverse drug reaction monitoring, drug therapy monitoring, and drug use evaluation). Overall, these activities were in accordance with Ministry of Health Regulation No. 74 of 2016, although some activities, such as independent drug disposal and MESO reporting, were not fully implemented due to facility limitations and regulatory authority.
Conclusion: The PKPA at UPT Puskesmas Pulo Brayan provided comprehensive insights into the pharmacist’s role in primary health care. This experience strengthened the competence of prospective pharmacists in delivering high-quality and regulation-compliant pharmaceutical services at the community level. | en_US |
