    Abstract
Nutritional needs during pregnancy are essential to support maternal health and fetal development. A lack of knowledge regarding balanced nutrition can increase the risk of pregnancy complications such as anemia, low birth weight (LBW), and chronic energy deficiency (CED). Health education is one of the strategies to improve pregnant women's understanding of proper nutrition. This senior practicum aimed to assess the level of knowledge among pregnant women regarding nutrition during pregnancy and healthy eating patterns based on the "Isi Piringku" (My Plate) concept, as well as to analyze the impact of education on improving that understanding. This practicum was conducted with five pregnant women in Hamlet VIII, Pulo Bandring Village, Pulo Bandring Subdistrict, Asahan Regency. The educational intervention was carried out twice, each session lasting 50 minutes, using a booklet as the media. A pre-test was administered prior to the educational sessions to assess the participants' baseline knowledge, followed by a post-test to evaluate their understanding after the intervention. Prior to the education sessions, 80% of the participants demonstrated a low level of understanding regarding nutritional needs during pregnancy. Following the implementation, an increase in knowledge was observed in all respondents, particularly in understanding portion distribution, nutritional requirements, and the risks of nutritional deficiencies. The delivery of nutrition education through effective communication proved to be effective in enhancing pregnant women's knowledge about balanced nutrition and healthy eating habits during pregnancy. Continuous educational efforts are crucial to prevent pregnancy complications related to nutritional deficiencies.
