dc.description.abstract | Overheating of electrical cables due to excessive power is one of the main causes of
electrical fires in residential and industrial installations. This study aims to design and
implement an Internet of Things (IoT)-based monitoring and early warning system
capable of detecting overheating symptoms and automatically cutting off the electrical
current. The system uses a DS18B20 temperature sensor to monitor cable temperature,
as well as a PZEM-004T sensor to read electrical parameters such as current, voltage,
and power. A visual indicator in the form of a yellow LED lights up when the
temperature reaches the threshold (60–70°C), while a red LED and relay activate
when the temperature exceeds 70°C, accompanied by a buzzer sound as a warning.
This system is also connected to the Blynk IoT platform to display temperature and
electrical parameter data in real-time, as well as a Telegram Bot to provide users with
direct notifications of warning temperatures and overheating. Test results show that
the system works well and is responsive in detecting, warning, and cutting off the
electrical current in dangerous conditions. This system is expected to be a preventive
solution to the risk of fire due to electrical cable overheating. | en_US |
