| dc.description.abstract | Background: The pharmaceutical industry is a licensed business entity engaged in
the manufacturing of drugs and/or drug substances in accordance with existing
regulations. All manufacturing activities must comply with Good Manufacturing
Practices (GMP). Pharmacists play a key role as responsible personnel in
production, quality assurance, and quality control to ensure the safety, efficacy, and
quality of pharmaceutical products. The Professional Pharmacist Work Practice in
the pharmaceutical industry is essential to provide pharmacy students with
knowledge, skills, and practical experience in the application of GMP principles.
Objective: This Professional Pharmacist Work Practice aims to enhance the
understanding of pharmacy students regarding the roles, functions, and
responsibilities of pharmacists in the pharmaceutical industry, as well as to gain
practical experience in implementing GMP, particularly at PT Daewoong Biologics
Indonesia.
Summary: The Professional Pharmacist Work Practice was conducted at PT
Daewoong Biologics Indonesia, Jababeka, from March 3 to April 30, 2025. The
activities included placement in the Quality Control department (physical-chemical
and microbiology sections) and training in other departments. Pharmacists play a
vital role in ensuring the quality and efficacy of pharmaceutical products from raw
materials to finished products. PT Daewoong Biologics Indonesia has consistently
implemented GMP in all aspects, including quality management systems,
personnel, facilities, equipment, sanitation and hygiene, production, quality control,
self-inspection, quality audit, documentation, outsourcing activities, validation, and
qualification.
Conclusion: The Professional Pharmacist Work Practice at PT Daewoong
Biologics Indonesia provided comprehensive insights into the application of GMP
in the pharmaceutical industry, particularly in the processing of cell-based products.
Pharmacists have proven to be key personnel responsible for ensuring the safety,
quality, and efficacy of drugs. Through this program, pharmacy students gained
valuable knowledge and practical experience that support their professionalism in
