The rapidly changing business environment demands for human resources with strength of being competitive. Human resources in a company must be professionally manage in order to create a balance between needs of the employees and demand as well as organizational capabilities of the company. Employee productivity is very important to measure success in running a business. A measure of the success of an individual, team or organization is its productivity. Jamkrindo Medan Branch experiences an excessive workload due to the delegation of work portfolios from Banda Aceh Branch, which is imbalanced with the addition of number of staff at the Medan branch. This research determines the ideal number of employee needed in the areas of insurance business, claim and subrogation, and operatons at PT Jamkrindo KC Medan. It employs Full Time Equivalent (FTE) method, to observe how much workload and energy are actullay required. The underloaded employees, 5 inloaded employees, and 7 overloaded employees, while the results of calculating the ideal number of employees needed using FTE indicate a shortage of 7 employees in the PT Jamkrindo Medan branch.
