Faktor-Faktor yang Berhubungan dengan Pemanfaatan Puskesmas oleh Penderita Hipertensi di Wilayah Kerja Puskesmas Sarudik Kabupaten Tapanuli Tengah

Abstract

Hypertension is a chronic medical condition that requires lifelong therapy and regular monitoring to prevent complications. According to the Minimum Service Standards (SPM) in Healthcare, blood pressure measurement for individuals with hypertension must be conducted at least once a month at healthcare facilities. The Sarudik Community Health Center has a notably high prevalence of hypertension cases, totaling 5,025. However, patient visits remain significantly low, with only 336 (6.7%) recorded visits in 2024. This study aims to analyze the factors associated with the utilization of public health services among hypertension patients in the Sarudik Health Center’s working area, Central Tapanuli Regency. The study employed an analytical observational design with a cross-sectional approach. A total of 98 respondents were selected through purposive sampling. The results showed significant associations between health service utilization and the variables of knowledge (p = 0.004), illness perception (p = 0.007), motivation (p = 0.001), and health personnel (p = 0.001). In contrast, no statistically significant correlation was observed between health insurance ownership and the utilization of health services among hypertensive individuals (p = 1.000). The Sarudik Community Health Center is expected to be more proactive in providing health education, particularly concerning the health risks associated with untreated hypertension. Future researchers are also encouraged to expand the scope of research variables in order to obtain more comprehensive findings regarding the factors associated with the utilization of community health centers by hypertensive patients.
