    Abstract
Background: According to the Indonesian pharmacist competency standards, pharmacists working in the pharmaceutical industry must possess the ability to formulate and manufacture pharmaceutical preparations in compliance with applicable standards. This includes the implementation of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP/CPOB) and Good Active Pharmaceutical Ingredient Manufacturing Practices (GAPIMP/CPBBAOB) to ensure product quality, safety, and efficacy. In addition, pharmacists are required to collaborate within organizations, establish interdisciplinary relationships, and stay updated with the latest scientific and technological advancements. The Pharmacist Professional Study Program of Universitas Sumatera Utara provides students with industrial practice to strengthen their competencies in line with these standards.
