| dc.description.abstract | Background: According to the Indonesian pharmacist competency standards, pharmacists working in the pharmaceutical industry must possess the ability to formulate and manufacture pharmaceutical preparations in compliance with applicable standards. This includes the implementation of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP/CPOB) and Good Active Pharmaceutical Ingredient Manufacturing Practices (GAPIMP/CPBBAOB) to ensure product quality, safety, and efficacy. In addition, pharmacists are required to collaborate within organizations, establish interdisciplinary relationships, and stay updated with the latest scientific and technological advancements. The Pharmacist Professional Study Program of Universitas Sumatera Utara provides students with industrial practice to strengthen their competencies in line with these standards.
Objective: To enhance the author’s understanding of the roles, functions, positions, and responsibilities of pharmacists in the pharmaceutical industry, as well as to study the direct application of GMP and GAPIMP principles in practice.
Summary: The Pharmacist Professional Work Practice (PKPA) was carried out at PT. Kimia Farma Sungwun Pharmacopia, Cikarang, from March 3 to April 25, 2025. During the program, the author participated in various activities, including production preparation, production processes, quality control, quality assurance, packaging, storage, and distribution of active pharmaceutical ingredients (APIs). The author also gained knowledge about documentation systems, sanitation, validation, and the implementation of GMP and GAPIMP standards within the pharmaceutical raw material industry.
Conclusion: PT. Kimia Farma Sungwun Pharmacopia has successfully implemented GMP and GAPIMP principles throughout its production processes. All production stages were carried out in accordance with standard operating procedures (SOPs), ensuring product quality and consistency in every batch. In addition, regular training and routine evaluations are conducted to maintain personnel competency and continuously improve the quality management system. | en_US |
