Forest ecosystems and the environment are closely related to the survival of
the creatures living in them, including humans. With increasing activity in the
Asahan Toba watershed, there are concerns about environmental damage that
could threaten the functioning of the ecosystem and the sustainability of natural
resources in this area. One approach that has been taken is to use environmental
pressure levels. This study aims to determine and analyze the level of environmental
pressure in the Asahan Toba watershed as a basis for formulating sustainable
environmental management policies. This study was conducted by creating a
population density map using IDW. Road density was calculated using line density.
Nominal per capita income was obtained from the BPS website from GRDP data
based on current prices according to business field divided by the population of the
regency/city. Weighting was performed using regression results using standardized
Beta coefficients and pressure level calculations per subdistrict. The study shows
that the level of environmental pressure in the studied area varies between
subdistricts. The distribution of environmental pressure levels in the Asahan Toba
watershed shows that most of the area falls into the low pressure category, covering
an area of 462,899.96 Ha (62.60%) of the total area.
