Abstract

Background: The pharmaceutical industry plays a crucial role in ensuring the availability of safe, efficacious, and high-quality pharmaceutical preparations for the public. To achieve this goal, every pharmaceutical industry is required to implement Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP). Implementing GMP requires the involvement of pharmacists responsible for quality assurance, production, and quality control. Therefore, prospective pharmacists need to gain experience in implementing GMP standards through the Pharmacist Professional Internship (PKPA) in the pharmaceutical industry. Objective: This PKPA aims to provide prospective pharmacists with insight, skills, and practical experience regarding the roles and responsibilities of pharmacists in the pharmaceutical industry and the implementation of GMP. Summary: The PKPA activities at PT. Dankos Farma include placement in the QA, PQR, and Cleaning Validation departments and an understanding of other departments through induction. Conclusion: Through this experience, the author gained a comprehensive understanding of GMP implementation and the role of pharmacists in ensuring drug quality in the pharmaceutical industry. This PKPA is expected to improve the competency of prospective pharmacists, thus better preparing them to face professional challenges in the pharmaceutical industry.
