| dc.description.abstract | Background: A Pharmaceutical Wholesaler (PBF) is a legal entity licensed to
procure, store, and distribute drugs and/or drug ingredients in large quantities in
accordance with applicable laws and regulations. PT. Antar Mitra Sembada is one
of the PBFs in Indonesia licensed to procure, store, and distribute drugs and/or
drug ingredients in large quantities. To ensure the quality, efficacy, and safety of
drugs, PBFs are required to implement Good Distribution Practices (GDP).
Objective: This Pharmacist Professional Practice (PKPA) aims to provide direct
understanding and learning about the role, function, and responsibilities of
pharmacists in PBFs and to understand the implementation of Good Distribution
Practices (GDP) at PT. Antar Mitra Sembata in distributing safe, effective, and
high-quality medicines.
Method: PKPA was conducted at PT. Antar Mitra Sembada Medan Branch from
November 1, 2024, to November 28, 2024, from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Western
Indonesian Time on Mondays to Fridays and from 8:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Western
Indonesian Time on Saturdays using direct observation, induction/training, and
field practice methods.
Results: The PKPA provided the author with practical experience related to the
implementation of CDOB, particularly in the handling of Cold Chain Products
(CCP), checking the completeness of purchase orders and delivery invoices from
buyers, especially for certain pharmaceutical products, precursors, and
psychotropic substances. Additionally, the author gained an understanding of the
flow of goods receiving and dispensing from the warehouse, drug storage,
temperature mapping, and other supporting procedures implemented at the PBF.
Summary: Through the PKPA at PT. Antar Mitra Sembada, the author gained
knowledge, skills, and real-world experience regarding pharmaceutical work at
the PBF. Consistent implementation of CDOB is key to ensuring drug quality is
maintained until it reaches the customer. This experience is expected to serve as a
foundation for prospective pharmacists to play an active role in PBF. | en_US |
