Background: Visum et Repertum (VeR) plays an important role in proving criminal cases; therefore, high-quality VeR reports are essential. General practitioners often have limited knowledge in preparing VeR, making training necessary to improve report quality.
Methods: This study employed a quasi-experimental pre-test post-test design. All general practitioners in Dairi Regency were asked to prepare a VeR based on a case scenario before training (pre-test). They then received training on proper VeR preparation according to standard guidelines and were subsequently asked to prepare another VeR for the same case scenario (post-test). The reports were evaluated using the Herkutanto scoring system.
Results: The level of knowledge among general practitioners showed a significant improvement. Prior to training, most VeR reports were of poor quality, whereas after training, the quality improved significantly (p<0.05).
Conclusion: Training effectively enhances general practitioners’ knowledge in preparing VeR for living victims with injuries.
