Pengaruh Pemberian Pupuk Organik Cair Daun Gamal dan Biosaka terhadap Pertumbuhan dan Produksi Pakcoy (Brassica rapa L.)
Effects of Gamal Liquid Organic Fertilizer and Biosaka on Growth and Yield of Pakcoy (Brassica rapa L.)
Abstract
Pakcoy is a leafy vegetable widely consumed due to its health benefits and high market demand. Organic cultivation enhances the quality of pakcoy as a food source. Materials readily available in the environment, such as gamal leaves often used as fencing plants, can be processed into liquid organic fertilizer (LOF) to support organic pakcoy cultivation. Additionally, biosaka may improve plant resistance to pests and diseases. This study aimed to determine the effects of gamal LOF and biosaka on the growth and yield of pakcoy. The experiment was conducted from March to May 2025 at Gang Kenanga 2, Jamin Ginting street km 11.5, Medan Tuntungan District, Medan City, North Sumatra, using a factorial Randomized Block Design. The first factor was gamal LOF (0, 100, 200, 300 ml/polybag), and the second factor was biosaka concentration (0, 2, 4, 6 ml/L water). Results showed that applying gamal LOF up to 300 ml/polybag significantly increased plant height, number of leaves, stem diameter, total fresh weight, canopy and root fresh weight, canopy and root dry weight, marketable fresh weight, and harvest index. Biosaka application significantly affected plant height and number of leaves at 2 weeks after planting, but had no significant effect on other parameters. The interaction between gamal LOF and biosaka showed no significant effect on all observed variables.
