Management of Nursing Care in Menopausal Women with Anxiety Problems Regarding Changes in Reproductive Function with the Application of Emotional Support Therapy and Reproductive Health Education in Pangkalan Mahsyur Village, Medan District, Johor
Abstract
Menopause is a condition in which menstruation stops permanently. When a person enters menopause, there are changes in hormone levels in the body, causing other changes such as physical changes and psychological changes. Anxiety in women facing menopause is the worry of facing something that thinks that elderly women will experience a life that is less healthy, less fit, and no longer beautiful. Based on World Health Organization data, around 25 million women in the world experience menopause every year. The general purpose of this senior practice is to find out the effect of providing emotional support therapy and reproductive health education on anxiety problems against changes in reproductive function experienced by menopausal women in Pangkalan Mahsyur Village, Medan Johor District, carried out to 3 menopausal female clients, namely Mrs. D who is 49 years old, Mrs. I who is 45 years old and Mrs. W who is 56 years old. The assessment method used in nursing care is to conduct direct interviews, observations, and physical examinations on clients. The results obtained from this practice showed a decrease in anxiety in the three clients after being provided with emotional support and education for three consecutive days. Third, clients showed an increase in their ability to maintain reproductive health with a healthier lifestyle, especially in maintaining the cleanliness of reproductive organs and diet. Therefore, it can be concluded that the provision of emotional support and education can help clients in controlling anxiety and maintaining health during menopause better.
