| dc.description.abstract | Indonesia is a country with a high level of vulnerability to natural disasters, especially floods. Sei Mati Urban Village in Medan Maimun Sub-district is flood-prone area due to its position in the lowlands and proximity to the Deli River. This condition requires optimal community preparedness in dealing with emergency situations. Education on evacuation techniques for disaster victims is an important component in improving the knowledge, attitudes and preparedness of the community to be able to act quickly and appropriately when a disaster occurs. This study aims to manage disaster nursing care through education of victim evacuation techniques to the community in Sei Mati Village and analyze the level of knowledge, attitudes, and community preparedness in facing floods. This research uses a community nursing approach with the stages of assessment, diagnosis, intervention, implementation, and evaluation. The number of respondents was 35 people selected from neighborhoods 7, 8, and 9 of Sei Mati Village. Data were collected through questionnaires covering aspects of knowledge, attitudes, and preparedness. Data were analyzed descriptively quantitatively. The results showed that most of the respondents were aged 50-59 years (31.43%), male gender (51.43%), high school education (65.71%), housewife occupation (40.0%), length of stay in the area 31-40 years (40.0%) and the majority of the community had never participated in disaster training. (74.29%). A total of 57.14% of respondents had a high level of knowledge about flood evacuation, 80% showed a positive attitude towards evacuation education, but 48.57% still did not show optimal preparedness. Nursing diagnoses found include lack of knowledge, negative attitudes towards evacuation education, and ineffectiveness of community action in disaster preparedness. Although most people have shown a positive attitude towards evacuation education, it has not been accompanied by realpreparedness. This shows the need for continuous interventions in the form of direct education, simulations, and empowerment of health cadres and community leaders to improve community preparedness for flood disasters. | en_US |
