Dampak Indeks Persepsi Korupsi, Pdb Perkapita, dan Kebebasan Ekonomi terhadap Investasi Asing Langsung Di 5 Negara Asean tahun 2014–2023
The Impact of Corruption Perception Index, Gdp Per Capita, and Economic Freedom on Foreign Direct Investment in Five Asean Countries During the 2014–2023 period
Abstract
This study aims to examine the effects of the Corruption Perception Index,
GDP per capita, and Economic Freedom on Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) in
five ASEAN countries: Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines, Vietnam, and
Thailand.
This research employs a quantitative causality approach. The data used is
panel data, which combines cross-sectional and time-series data. The cross-
sectional data covers five developing countries in the ASEAN region, while the time-
series data spans the years 2014–2023. The study uses secondary data obtained
from the World Bank, Transparency International, and the Heritage Foundation.
The results show that simultaneously, the independent variables—Corruption
Perception Index, GDP per capita, and Economic Freedom—have a significant
effect on Foreign Direct Investment in the five ASEAN countries during the 2014–
2023 period. Partially, the Corruption Perception Index has a negative and
insignificant effect on Foreign Direct Investment. GDP per capita has a positive
and significant effect on Foreign Direct Investment. Economic Freedom has a
positive but insignificant effect on Foreign Direct Investment.
