This study aims to determine whether there is a difference in Emotional Self Awareness between adolescents who attend and do not attend the Youth Posyandu
in Belawan Sicanang Village. The method in this study is a comparative method
involving 66 adolescents who attended the Youth Posyandu Program and 43
adolescents who did not attend the Youth Posyandu. The sample was determined
through accidental sampling in adolescents aged 10–18 years. The data collection
technique used a Likert scale, namely the Toronto Alexithymia Scale-20 which
consists of 20 items. This scale has been adapted and its reliability has been tested
for the Indonesian context by Yusainy (2017)). The results of the analysis using
Mann Whitney-U showed that the hypothesis value for the Difficulty Identifying
Feelings (DIF) dimension was 0.467, Difficulty Describing Feelings (DDF) was
0.975, and Externally Oriented Thinking (EOT) was 0.767. These findings
conclude that there are no significant differences in the dimensions of Difficulty
Identifying Feelings, Difficulty Describing Feelings, and Externally Oriented
Thinking between Participants and Non-participants of the Adolescent Posyandu
Program.
