Loneliness is an unpleasant emotional condition that arises when the need for social closeness is not met. One psychological factor that has the potential to influence loneliness is attachment style, specifically anxious attachment style. This study aims to determine the effect of anxious attachment style on loneliness in single students. The research subjects totalled 2,513 active university students in Indonesia who were unmarried and did not have a romantic partner, who were selected using convenience sampling technique. The instruments used in this study were the Experiences in Close Relationships-Revised (ECR-R) scale to measure anxious attachment and the UCLA Loneliness Scale version 3 to measure loneliness. Data analysis was conducted using simple linear regression. The results showed that anxious attachment style has a significant effect on loneliness with a significance value (p) of 0.000 (p < 0.05) and a coefficient of determination (R²) of 0.257. This means that anxious attachment style is able to explain 25.7% of the variation in loneliness in single students. This finding indicates that the higher a person's anxious attachment level, the higher the level of loneliness he feels. This research is expected to be a reference in the development of psychological interventions for single students who experience loneliness.en_US
