    Abstract
Flooding is a frequent disaster in Indonesia and has a significant impact on the health, economic and social aspects of the community. Sei Mati Village, Medan Maimun Sub-district, is a flood-prone area due to a poor drainage system and its proximity to the Deli River. This study aims to manage disaster nursing care in the form of preparedness education to improve community knowledge, attitudes and actions in dealing with floods. This study uses a community nursing approach method, namely assessment, diagnosis, intervention, implementation, evaluation and providing flood preparedness education activities during pre-disaster, during disaster, post-disaster and disaster preparedness bags. The sample in this study were 35 people who were people in neighborhoods 7, 8 and 9 of Sei Mati Village. Data collection using research instrument sheets, interviews and direct observation to the community. The results showed that most of the respondents were female (57.14%), aged 51-60 years (40.0%), had a high school education (82.86%), where they worked as entrepreneurs (48.57%) and had lived in the area ≥ 40 years (68.57%), and had never participated in flood preparedness training as much as (82.86%). A total of 60.0% of respondents had a low level of knowledge about flood evacuation procedures, 82.9% showed a supportive attitude towards the statement of disaster preparedness education, but 77.1% still did not show preparedness in real actions, one of which did not have a disaster preparedness bag This study shows that disaster nursing care management through flood preparedness education has proven effective in building community preparedness for flooding and can be recommended to be applied in other disaster-prone areas.
