Karakteristik Pasien Kanker Kolorektal di Instalasi Rawat Inap RSUP Haji Adam Malik Medan Tahun 2008-2015

Abstract

Background Sepsis is a systemic inflammatory response syndrome (SIRS) with discovery or suspicion of bacteremia And still the leading cause of death in critical cases in various parts of the world. One of them is the obstruction of postoperative colorectal cancer where a greater risk of sepsis. Colorectal cancer itself ranks the third most commonly diagnosed cancer and the second leading cause in the world. The prevalence of colorectal cancer is increasing in the world making it as one of the serious global health problem. Objective To determine the incidence of sepsis in patients with colorectal cancer in Haji Adam Malik General Hospital for 7 years from 2008-2015. Method This is a descriptive study with cross sectional design which located in Medical Record Installation of Haji Adam Malik General Hospital. The data colllection is done by using secondary data from medical record of patient with colorectal cancer in the years 2008-2015. Totalling 560 samples were selected by using total sampling. Result From this study indicate that most age group are at the age of more than equal 60 years which is 166 people (29.6%). More patients with colorectal cancer found in male which is 289 people (51.6%). The most common sites are the rectum that 348 people (62.1%). And found to be stage III as the most frequent one that 172 people (30.7%) and incidence of sepsis is 51 people (9.1%). Conclusion From total 560 medical record files, found that 9.1% of colorectal cancer patients with sepsis in Haji Adam Malik General Hospital.
