| dc.description.abstract | Background: Hospital pharmacy services are professional health services that play an essential role in ensuring therapeutic success and improving patients’ quality of life. According to the Regulation of the Minister of Health of the Republic of Indonesia No. 72 of 2016, the standards of hospital pharmacy services include the management of pharmaceutical preparations, medical devices, medical consumables, and clinical pharmacy services. Pharmacists play a crucial role in clinical pharmacy, including prescription review, drug information services, counseling, drug therapy monitoring, and interprofessional collaboration.
Objective: The pharmacist professional practice aims to enhance the understanding and equip pharmacy students with knowledge, skills, and practical experience regarding the roles and responsibilities of pharmacists in hospital pharmacy services.
Summary: The pharmacist professional practice at RSPAD Gatot Soebroto was conducted from February 3 to March 31, 2025, through rotations in various pharmacy units, including the outpatient department, inpatient department (ICU, NICU/PICU, Dokmil), emergency pharmacy, pharmacy warehouse, and Central Sterile Supply Department (CSSD). During the program, apothecary students were actively involved in the management of pharmaceuticals, medical devices, and consumables, including selection, planning, procurement, storage, distribution, and disposal. Furthermore, apothecary students participated in clinical pharmacy services through drug therapy monitoring (DTM) and visite to ensure the effectiveness, safety, and rationality of medication use in patients. Apothecary students also participated in practical training in aseptic dispensing and handling cytostatics.
Conclusion: The pharmacist professional practice at RSPAD Gatot Soebroto provided comprehensive experience in both pharmaceutical management and clinical pharmacy services. This program enhanced the competence and preparedness of pharmacy students to carry out their professional roles in hospital practice. | en_US |
