Professional Work Practice Of Industrial Pharmacists at PT Darya Varia Laboratoria Tbk Citeureup Plant
Abstract
Background: The pharmaceutical industry is a business entity that has a license from the Minister of Health to carry out activities related to the manufacture of drugs or drug ingredients. The functions of the pharmaceutical industry are the manufacture of drugs/drug ingredients, education & training, and research & development. In order to produce high-quality drug products that are effective, safe, and consistent, a guideline for the pharmaceutical industry on Good Manufacturing Practices (CPOB). Pharmacists, as pharmaceutical professionals, have an important responsibility in ensuring that all processes in the pharmaceutical industry are carried out in accordance with CPOB principles. Therefore, understanding and practical experience through the Pharmacist Professional Practice (PKPA) program in the Pharmaceutical Industry are required.
Objective: The PKPA at PT Darya-Varia Laboratoria Tbk Citeureup Plant is implemented with the aim of providing prospective pharmacists with the insight, knowledge, skills, and practical experience to perform pharmaceutical work in the pharmaceutical industry through the application of CPOB.
Summary: The Pharmacist Professional Work Practice (PKPA) at the PT Darya-Varia Laboratoria Tbk Citeureup Plant in the pharmaceutical industry was carried out from January 6, 2025 to February 28, 2025, from 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Western Indonesian Time on weekdays from Monday to Friday. This activity was conducted to gain firsthand knowledge and understanding of the role, functions, and responsibilities of pharmacists in the pharmaceutical industry, as well as to comprehend the implementation of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).
Conclusion: The PKPA at PT Darya-Varia Laboratoria Tbk Citeureup Plant provides practical experience and insight, knowledge, and skills regarding the implementation of CPOB in the pharmaceutical industry. This activity highlights the strategic role of pharmacists as those responsible for quality control, quality assurance, and production in supporting the availability of effective and high-quality pharmaceutical products.
