Pengelolaan Asuhan Keperawatan pada Penderita Tuberkulosis Paru dengan Metode Edukasi Berbasis Booklet di Puskesmas Medan Johor

Abstract

Tuberculosis is one of the leading causes of death in the world with an incidence of 10.8 million cases and a mortality rate of 1.25 million cases. The national TB control program establishes health education as one of the activities to increase community knowledge and awareness in TB control. The purpose of health education is to change the attitudes and behavior of individuals, families, special groups and communities in fostering and maintaining healthy living behaviors. In this case, booklets are one of the media that can be used to optimize health education. Booklets contain information that can be used to understand messages in health education. The purpose of this senior practice is to apply nursing theories and concepts in managing and providing nursing care to tuberculosis patients using health education methods. The education process was carried out in 5 visits, namely June 9-June 13, 2025. Education is carried out in stages by utilizing booklet media. The results obtained were that the client had a rapid increase in knowledge about tuberculosis where before education, the client's knowledge level was only 40% and after education it was 96%. During the education process, the client showed acceptance and cooperation in every visit. It is recommended that clients can continue to apply the results of the education consistently.
