This study aims to examine the effect of Perceived Organizational Virtuousness on
Organizational Citizenship Behavior among members of the Disaster Response
Task Force at the Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) of North
Sumatra Province. Perceived Organizational Virtuousness refers to the extent to
which individuals perceive organizational virtues such as trust, forgiveness,
compassion, integrity, and optimism. Organizational Citizenship Behavior is
defined as voluntary work behavior performed beyond formal job duties. This
research used a quantitative approach with a correlational design and involved 171
task force members selected using total sampling. The instruments used were the
Perceived Organizational Virtuousness scale by Cameron et al. (2004) and the
Organizational Citizenship Behavior scale by Williams & Anderson (1991),
adapted to the study context. The results showed that Perceived Organizational
Virtuousness had a positive and significant effect on Organizational Citizenship
Behavior, with a coefficient of determination (R²) of 20.9%. These findings indicate
that perceptions of organizational virtues contribute to the emergence of extra-role
behavior in disaster response work.
