    Abstract
Red chili is one of the mainstay horticultural commodities cultivated because it has high economic value. However, there are several problems that are often faced by farmers, namely diseases attacks, one of which is fruit rot disease caused by the fungus Fusarium incarnatum. This disease can cause low productivity to crop failure. One alternative that can be done to control this pathogen is by appicating plant fungicides in the form of extracts of mimosa leaf and betel leaf. This study was aimed to analyze the effect of mimosa leaf extract and betel leaf extract in suppressing fruit rot disease (Fusarium incarnatum) in red chilies (Capsicum annum L.). This research was conducted from August 2024 to February 2025 in the Plant Disease Laboratory and Greenhouse, Faculty of Agriculture, Universitas Sumatera Utara. This study used a completely randomized design and a randomized block design with 3 tests namely in vitro, in vivo on chili fruit and in vivo on chili plants. Each test had 8 treatments including negative control, positive control, betel leaf extract 30%, betel leaf extract 60%, betel leaf extract 90%, mimosa leaf extract 30%, mimosa leaf extract 60%, mimosa leaf extract 90%. The results of this study indicated that betel leaf and mimosa leaf extracts could inhibit fungal growth in vitro and in vivo and can be an alternative for environmentally friendly plant fungicide.
