Ineffective airway clearance and family anxiety are two common nursing diagnoses encountered in family nursing care for Acute Respiratory Tract Infection (ARI) cases. This professional final project aims to compare the implementation and evaluation of family nursing interventions carried out in two families experiencing the same health issue. Interventions included providing educational support and complementary therapies such as chest physiotherapy. aromatic steam therapy, and nasal irrigation using 0.9% NaCl solution to support airway clearance. Additionally, relaxation therapy was administered to reduce family anxiety. Evaluation results showed that respiratory problems in the first family case (Mr. P) were resolved within three days, while the second case (Mr. T) required four days of intervention. In both cases, family anxiety was successfully reduced within three days of home visits.
The differences in
evaluation outcomes highlight the importance of considering emotional readiness and family engagement in the implementation of interventions. The implementation of these interventions reflects the core competencies of
professional nurses in delivering evidence-based, holistic, and family-empowering nursing care. These findings emphasize the importance of mastering educational and collaborative communication skills to support the success of community nursing practice.
