This study aimed to examine the effect of physical activity on students’ stress levels
in the context of campus green space. Physical activity was measured using the
International Physical Activity Questionnaire-Short Form (IPAQ-SF), which had
been translated and adapted to the context of physical activities conducted in campus
green spaces. Students’ stress levels were measured using the Perceived Stress Scale
(PSS). Data were collected over a two-week period in the campus green spaces of
Universitas Sumatera Utara (USU). Data analysis was carried out using simple
regression analysis. The results showed that physical activity had a significant effect
on students’ stress levels, with F = 4.518 and a significance level of p = 0.035 (p <
0.05). This finding indicated that the higher the physical activity performed by
students in campus green spaces, the lower their perceived stress levels. Furthermore,
the R Square value of 0.030 demonstrated that physical activity contributed 3% to
students’ stress levels, while the remaining 97% was influenced by other factors
beyond the scope of this study. Therefore, physical activity in campus green spaces
could be considered as one of the strategies to reduce stress among students. v
