dc.description.abstractSteel structures are the primary choice in the construction of high-rise buildings and modern infrastructure due to their strength, load-bearing capacity, and design flexibility. This study aims to determine the displacement and calculate the interstory drift that occurs in steel structures with a special moment-resisting frame system with and without zone panels. The research methodology involves analyzing steel structures with a special momentresisting frame system, focusing on lateral earthquake loads based on SNI 1726:2019 and gravitational loads using ETABS software for modeling and analysis with zone panel inputs. The analysis results show significant differences between models with and without zone panels, with percentage displacements in the X direction being approximately 4.45% larger and in the Y direction approximately 1.14% larger for structures with zone panels. Meanwhile, interstory drift in the Y direction is approximately 9.18% larger without zone panels, and in the X direction approximately 4.49% larger with zone panels. Therefore, this study provides important information regarding the structural behavior of steel connections in earthquake-prone areas, contributing to the design of safer and more efficient steel structural connections.en_US
