This research aimed to design and develop a solar-powered laptop charging station equipped with a real-time voltage, current, and power monitoring system. The system used solar panels as the main energy source, with the output power stored in a 12Ah VRLA battery via a solar charge controller. INA219 sensors and an Arduino Nano microcontroller were employed to monitor electrical parameters, display results on a 16×2 LCD, and record data to a microSD card for further analysis. Testing was conducted on various laptops with two types of connectors, namely barrel connectors and USB Type-C. The results of the study showed that the charging station was capable of charging laptop batteries with high efficiency. The average power supplied through the barrel connector ranged from 38.35 to 40 W with a current of 2.00 A, while the USB Type-C provided greater power, averaging 64.68 W with a current of 3.14 A. The charging time from 20% to 84% battery capacity via the barrel connector was 94 minutes, whereas charging using a USB Type-C cable took 104 minutes to reach 86%. Both methods were faster than charging with the manufacturer’s charger, which required approximately 125 minutes. Thus, this charging station not only provided an environmentally friendly charging solution based on renewable energy but also offered fast charging performance.en_US
