Ketahanan Papan Partikel pada Berbagai Rasio Campuran Limbah Daun Singkong dan Jenis Bambu Terhadap Serangan Rayap Tanah (Coptotermes curvignathus)
Resistance of Particle Board in Various Mixture Ratios of Cassava Leaf Waste and Bamboo Types Against Subterranean Termite (Coptotermes curvignathus) Attacks
Abstract
Particleboard is a form of composite product made from particles
containing lignocellulose. Termites are one type of insect included in the Isoptera
Order and are known to have the behavior of eating wood containing
lignocellulose. The purpose of this study was to determine the resistance of
particleboard with a mixture ratio of solid organic waste and bamboo types to
subterranean termite attacks using the grave yard test method based on SNI 01-
7202-2006. Particleboard 15 cm long was buried in the ground and left 5 cm above
the ground surface. The test was carried out for one hundred days. The parameters
observed included weight loss and visual assessment. The resulting weight loss
value ranged from 33.87% - 94.93%. The best resistance was obtained by the board
with a 50/50 mixture ratio of cassava leaf and black bamboo powder. In this study,
weight loss was categorized in class V with a very poor level of resistance and
visual assessment of slight attacks, light attacks, heavy attacks, and destroyed
attacks.
