    Abstract
    Speech delay is one of the developmental disorders that is quite often found in preschool children and can have an impact on the cognitive, social, and emotional aspects of children. Therefore, nursing intervention is needed by providing education to increase parental involvement in stimulating children with speech delay. The purpose of this senior practicum report is to provide nursing care to children with speech delay through an educational approach to parents, to increase their involvement in the process of stimulating children's language development. The activities of this senior practicum were carried out by conducting assessments, interviews, and education to parents regarding the use of flash cards in preschool children with speech delay. The methods used in this activity include child assessment, interviews with parents, and providing education regarding the use of flash card media as a language stimulation tool at home. The practicum was conducted at the Children's Polyclinic of Prof. dr. Chairuddin Panusunan Lubis Hospital on five children with a diagnosis of speech delay. The results showed that the use of flash card media for 10-15 minutes per session was able to stimulate the pronunciation of new vocabulary in most children. Parents showed increased involvement in the process of stimulating children's language development. The interview results showed changes in children's verbal abilities before and after the intervention, with an increase in vocabulary of two to five words in a short time. Children seemed more enthusiastic in exploring new things. The results of this senior practicum showed that nursing interventions with an educational approach using flash card media can be recommended for nursing education in improving students' skills in providing comprehensive nursing care services.
