    Abstract
The elderly are an age group vulnerable to various health problems, one of which is hypertension, which contributes to a decline in physical, psychological, and social quality of life. Anxiety experienced by elderly patients due to hypertension can affect blood pressure stability and psychosocial well-being. This senior practicum aimed to manage nursing care in fulfilling the psychosocial basic needs of elderly patients with hypertension through the implementation of deep breathing relaxation techniques. The intervention was conducted on three elderly patients aged 64-74 years over a period of three day's, involving a comprehensive nursing assessment, identification of anxiety problems, care planning, implementation, and evaluation. The intervention focused on the application of deep breathing relaxation techniques delivered in an educational and therapeutic manner. The results showed a decrease in anxiety levels in two patients, along with improved sleep patterns and emotional expression. Anxiety levels varied among patients. For Mr. J. the pre-intervention anxiety score was 37 (severe). which decreased to 30 (severe) post-intervention For Mrs. S. the score increased slightly from 22 (moderate) to 27 (moderate). For Mr. SJ. the score remained stable at 24 (moderate) before and after the intervention. The deep breathing relaxation technique proved effective in reducing anxiety, was easy to apply, and could be practiced independently. This intervention may serve as a non-pharmacological alternative therapy to improve the psychosocial well-being of elderly patients with hypertension.
